The 101 Bursaries Giveaway (‘Giveaway’) starts at 00:01 on January 13th, 2023 and closes at 23:59 on February 19th, 2023 ('Giveaway Period').

Sponsors

The Sponsors of this Giveaway are the School of Entrepreneurship and Arena Holdings (‘Sponsors’). By participating in the Giveaway, each Applicant unconditionally accepts and agrees to comply with and abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsors, which shall be final and binding in all respects. The Sponsors are responsible for the collection and processing of Applications and the overall administration of the Giveaway. Applicants should look solely to the Sponsors with any questions, comments or problems related to the Giveaway. The Sponsors can be reached by email at shumba@schoolofentrepreneurship.co during the Giveaway Period.

Bursaries

Applicants will each stand a chance to receive 1 (one) of 101 (one hundred and one) 4LIFE Entrepreneurship Programme™ bursaries, each worth R19,995 (‘Bursary’). Each Recipient will receive access to their Bursary when the programme starts on March 1st, 2023. If the Applicant enrols in the 4LIFE Entrepreneurship Programme™ before the Giveaway period ends, the Applicant will still stand a chance to receive a bursary in which case the Applicant’s enrolment fee payment(s) will be refunded.

Eligibility

The Giveaway is open to any person (‘Applicant’) who meets the qualification criteria. To be eligible, the Applicant must:

  • accept the Giveaway’s rules, terms, and conditions
  • confirm their email address within 24 hours to validate their Application (step 1)
  • finalise their Application within 24 hours by answering a few questions (step 2), after confirming their email address
  • confirm that they have a device to access the internet
  • confirm that they have internet access in order to attend the programme online
  • commit to completing all the coaching sessions (attending live or watching the recordings)
  • commit to completing all the assignments they are given

The Sponsors and its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, retailers, sales representatives, advertising and promotion agencies and each of their respective officers, directors and employees (the ‘Promotion Entities’), are ineligible to enter the Giveaway or receive a Bursary. Household Members and Immediate Family Members of such individuals are also not eligible to apply or receive a Bursary. ‘Household members’ shall mean those people who share the same residence for at least three months a year. ‘Immediate Family Members’ shall mean parents, step-parents, legal guardians, children, step-children, siblings, step-siblings, or spouses. The Giveaway is subject to all applicable laws and regulations of South Africa and is void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Application

Apply during the Giveaway Period by visiting schoolofentrepreneurship.co/101 and completing the application form. Automated or robotic Applications submitted by individuals or organisations will be disqualified. Any attempt by the Applicant to obtain more than the stated number of Applications by using multiple or different email addresses, identities, registrations, logins or any other methods, including, but not limited to, commercial Giveaway subscription notification and/or entering services, will void the Applicant’s Applications and that the Applicant may be disqualified. Final eligibility for the award of any Bursary is subject to eligibility verification as set forth below. All Applicants must post their Applications during the Giveaway Period in order to participate. The Sponsors’ database clock will be the official timekeeper for this Giveaway.

Selection

The Recipients will be selected from among all eligible Applications received throughout the Giveaway Period. Final selection of the Recipients is done through a scoring system based on the answers provided in the application plus the total number of entries earned for referring additional applicants via the Applicant’s unique referral link.

Notification

Recipients will be announced during a live webinar on February 20th, 2023. Thereafter, the names of the Recipients will be published in the Herald, Daily Dispatch, and Sowetan on February 24rd, 2023 and the Sunday Times on February 26th, 2023. Moreover, the Recipients will be sent a notification by email and SMS no later than 48 (forty eight) hours after the drawing. The Recipients must accept and claim their Bursary as directed by the Sponsors within 48 (forty eight) hours of the notification email and SMS being sent. The Sponsors are not responsible for any delay or failure to receive notification for any reason, including an inactive email account, technical difficulties associated therewith, or the Recipients failure to adequately monitor any email account. Any notification not responded to or returned as undeliverable may result in forfeiture of the Bursary. The Recipient may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and release of liability, and a Publicity Release (collectively the ‘Bursary Claim Documents’). No cash alternative is available while the substitution or transfer of the Bursary is not permitted except by the Sponsors.

Communication

By entering the Giveaway, Applicants agree to receive communication via email, SMS, and WhatsApp from the Sponsors. Applicants can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any email or by replying “STOP” to any SMS or WhatsApp message.

Privacy

Any personal information supplied by you will be subject to the privacy policy of the School of Entrepreneurship posted here: schoolofentrepreneurship.co.za/privacy-policy. By entering the Giveaway, you grant the Sponsors permission to share your name and photograph to promote the Giveaway during and after the Giveaway Period.

Cancellation

The Sponsors reserve the right, in their discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Giveaway should a virus, bugs, non-authorised human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Giveaway. In such a case, the Sponsors may select the recipients from all eligible Applications received prior to or after (if appropriate) the action taken by the Sponsors. The Sponsors reserve the right, in their discretion, to disqualify any individual who violates these rules, terms, and conditions or tampers or attempts to tamper with the Application process, the operation of the Giveaway, or the website.The Sponsors have the right, in their discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Giveaway, including but not limited to; multiple Applications from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple Applications from the same computer in excess of that allowed by the Giveaway’s rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering. Any attempt by an Applicant to deliberately damage the website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Giveaway may be a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsors reserve the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by the law.

Liability

By entering, the Applicant agrees to release and hold harmless the Sponsors and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such Applicant’s participation in the Giveaway and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any Bursary or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or internet service; (iv) unauthorised human intervention in any part of the Application process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of Applications.

Disputes

This Giveaway is governed by the laws of South Africa without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this Giveaway, the Applicant agrees that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Giveaway, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in South Africa having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances shall the Applicant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees. Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

Changes

The Sponsors reserve the right, in their discretion, to amend these Rules, Terms & Conditions at any point during the Giveaway Period. Applicants will be notified of any changes.
